From The Founders
Born on July 16,2021, in the midst of a semi-pandemic world, Bitters & Co. was created with a simple intention; to shake up Nepal’s nascent cocktail scene. As founders, we wanted to do more than just serve cocktails. Bitters & Co. was built to bring global taste to a local audience, while reimagining how we experience hospitality, community and the craft, emphasising on the timeless classics. A well-balanced classic/modern cocktail when done right can carry global influence, cultural depth and artistic experience. We weren’t here to follow the trends, but to set the standard.
We envisioned a space that felt both unique and effortlessly calming; a place where people could truly relax & unwind. And what better way to create that sense of ease & comfort than by bringing nature indoors? The design of Bitters & Co. draws from biophilic principles; a conscious effort to create a space that feels grounded, natural and instinctively comforting. We’ve incorporated elements like exposed bricks, warm ambient lighting, high ceilings and abundant greenery to blur the boundary between the indoors and the organic world with our centrepiece being the iconic Swami tree. For us, it’s not just a visual anchor, but a symbol of strong foundation , serenity & prosperity; also considered to be as an auspicious tree in Hindu community. It’s a soul of the bar. Every detail was chosen to reflect the same balance and care we bring to our cocktails; simple, intentional and rooted in connection.
